Thank you MidSouth Electric for waking me on my only day off and letting me sit in my vehucle for two hours. The power went off at one if my towers so I got to sit there in my Jeep with the tower equipment plugged into my inverter in my car. 20 degrees outside, brrrrrr!

While I sat, I did some research on UPS's with more capacity than the typical server UPS from Tripplite or APC.  I came across this link which was quite interesting :  http://www.scienceinafrica.co.za/2008/february/backuppower.htm .
