2 Day Class, September 8-9 at the ISP Supplies Training Center, College Station, Texas

Ready to take the next step in your MikroTik Training? Advanced training allows you to hone your skills and gain new knowledge about traffic shaping and firewalls.  Don’t be fooled by cram courses with 4 certifications in one week, it simply can’t be done with any reasonable level of retention.

Class will be held at the ISP Supplies Training Center in College Station, Texas.  The address is 10770 State Highway 30 Suite 200, College Station, Texas 77845.

MTCTCE – MikroTik Certified Traffic Control Engineer

The course covers the following topics:

  • Packet flow diagram
  • Firewall filter/nat/mangle
  • QOS
  • DNS Client/cache
  • DHCP client, relay and server
  • Web proxy

Lunch provided both days by ISP Supplies.

Note: A current MTCNA certification is required to take the MTCTCE certification exam. You may take the class without the MTCNA but will not be able to certify.  If your MTCNA is expired or if you have extensive experience with RouterOS but no current MTCNA certification, please contact me to make arrangements prior to the class.

About The Class

This class is taught using the MikroTik curriculum. The MikroTik Certification exam will be given during the class with instant results online. The exams are open book and 60% is required to pass.

Please note: The certification exams are prepared by MikroTIk. Passing the exam will depend on fully understanding the class concepts and will require a good base knowledge of TCPIP, networks and RouterOS. LearnMikroTik.com is not responsible for the content of the exams or your ability to pass the exams. A grade of 60% is required to pass and the exam is given “open book”. I recommend purchasing my book “RouterOS by Example” and reading it prior to attending class.

Venue

Class will be held at the ISP Supplies Training Center, 10770 State Highway 30 Suite 200, College Station, Texas.  There are many hotels in the area with various pricing.  We suggest the Hilton Garden Inn which is less than 5 minutes from our office.  Also, any hotel on University Drive is less than 10 minutes from the training center.

Overview

Class Time: 2  days, class begins Thursday morning at 8:30 am sharp and ends with the certification test the last day by 6:00 pm. All students attending and taking an exam will receive one free RouterOS Level 4 license

Cancellations: In case you need to cancel your participation at the seminar, a written notice should be sent in by e-mail to [email protected] prior the seminar. There is an administrative fee of US$100 for refunds. There is no refund for training fee paid, if cancellation is received less than 10 days before the event.

Required Hardware

1) Each participant will be provided with a RouterBoard to work with during the class.
2) You need to bring the following items:

      • A laptop equipped with Ethernet port, and, if possible, a serial (COM1 or USB-to-COM) port for connecting to RouterBoard’s console; NOTE: Please install the MicroSoft .net environment on your machine prior to class!
      • CAT5 Ethernet Patch Cables 2m/6ft 2pcs for connecting to the router and between neighbor routers
      • Power Strip for powering the laptop, router, and, possibly, your neighbor’s equipment
